Best Friend Weekend

This past week has been insane. Tons of stuff has been going on [at least it feels like that] so I definitely need to update! So my last blog post I explained about quitting my job which has actually turned out to be such a GOOD decision. But I will get to that in a bit. But it was so perfect that I had last weekend off of work so that I could spend plenty of time with Brittanee, Bo, And Ty when they came to stay with us! Bo and Ty were making a trip down to Boise and Anthany and I were stoked to spend time with them. I told Brittanee they were coming and pretty much begged her to come with. However, the day of, she told me she was too busy and she couldn't come. At that point, my emotional self was not the nicest friend cause I was disappointed she wasn't coming. Oops :] Love you Britt! haha When I was texting Britt later that night, she told me that she was bored at home. And I thought to myself, If Brittanee is bored at home why isn't she on facebook and pinterest? [I know my best friend too well.] I told Anthany maybe she was coming and just going to surprise me. He told me not to get my hopes up. Then Bo and Ty showed up and I was way excited but bummed Brittanee really wasn't with them. Then we were sitting around talking and Bo says "I think I can hear someone knocking." I didn't think so but I hurried outside hoping Britt was here.. but nobody was there. But then a minute later Brittanee did show up! Turns out she was confused and knocking on the neighbors upstair's door instead :] haha I was so excited!!

That night, we went to Maverick and they gave us FREE ice creams.. apparently thats something they do every friday night from 9 to 10. Saturday, the boys went to the Boise State football game, so me and Brittanee spent some girl time shopping and playing our favorite Wii game, Disney Universe. We spent lots of time by the pool swimming and getting some sun. We ate out way more than we should have. It was perfect. Me and Brittanee were both definitely in need of some best friend girl time. Another thing we were in need of?....

Why yes... that is two grown woman in footy pajamas. They just take comfort to the next level :] I was super sad when they all had to leave. It was so much fun having them here. And we finally got to put our guest room to good use. Yay! After they left, Anthany bought me some Mountain Dew and we rented a chick flick to cheer me up. Goodbyes are rough for me haha

I wish I had the pictures we took on Anthany's webcam.. SO FUNNY.
Monday morning, I went to go pick up all my stuff at Boise Hair Company. It was kind of awkward so I just went in and got out as fast as I could. Then, I had my job interview at Fantastic Sam's. It went really well and she told me she wanted to hire me! I was so excited. My first day was crazy. As soon as I walked in [before I had even set up my stuff] they told me they had a person waiting for me to give them a perm. So I jumped right in and was busy all day with haircut after haircut. I LOOVED it. The people I work with are amazing. I'm absolutely loving it. It's so much fun and it's so good to be busy and not be sitting around. This is a much better fit for me and I'm so glad I made the change. But because of my new dress code, I'm definitely going to need to buy more black and white clothes.

Tonight, Anthany and I are going to the BSU vs BYU football game! I've never been to a college game, so I'm really excited! It should be an awesome game to watch. I'm just not looking forward to going and standing in line for hours for a good seat.. I'm sure it will be worth it!

Moving On...

Today was hard. I've been frustrated with my job for awhile now, but I tried to make excuses. Like...
- I haven't given it enough time, if I wait it out it will get better
- Things really aren't THAT bad
- Nobody likes going to work, right?
I finally got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. I was sick of being talked down to. I was done with being pushed around. I wanted out right now. The thought of trying to stick it out for one more day made me want to cry. Correction... I literally did cry haha. I'm so grateful Anthany was completely supportive of my decision. He talked me through what I should say, reassured my fears, and comforted me as I felt like a failure. I'm truly lucky to have him. I'm sure me getting rid of our main source of income freaked him out, but he loves me enough to care about my happiness.. and he trusts me enough to know I will find something new. Ahh.. I'm just lucky :]

Boise Hair Company wasn't completely terrible. My boss was incredible.. she was so willing to work around my schedule when necessary, was supportive of my goals, gave me tons of compliments and motivation. I felt terrible letting her down after everything she had done for me. I also loved my clients. They were awesome people to work on and they were so sweet to me. I learned a ton working at Boise Hair Company. Working with people with so much experience taught me SO much. I'm grateful for all the times I just sat and watched them work. This summer I've become a much better hairstylist, which I wouldn't trade for the world. It's sad some mean girls could ruin my experience. It sucks that I let them get to me so much.

I'm excited to be moving forward though. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I just feel so much better. Even though it's hard, I know it's gonna be okay. I really need a job closer to my apartment anyways, because a 25 minute commute was just too much. It will be awesome to save money on gas and have more time with Anthany and less time driving. I have some interviews set up for next week and I'm just hoping for the best. I really hope whatever salon I work at next is amazing.

I love blogging. It's kind of therapeutic for me. I needed to blog tonight just to sort out what I'm thinking and how I feel. To be honest, I'm freaking out. But also so relieved. It's a really weird thing haha. On a brighter note, I'm excited to have friends come stay with us this weekend! It will be good to take my mind off everything else and get myself all cheered up and ready for my interviews next week! Time to move forward!

Amazing Weekend

Love this picture of me and my cute sister :] So I will get to how amazing the wedding is... but first I have to tell about how terrible everything up until the wedding was.. To start off, I forgot so much stuff. My griddle.. nintendo games for bri... I forgot everything else I forgot. Anyways, it gets worse. We get about an hour out of Boise and there was a terrible wreck. We are stuck just sitting in traffic for an hour and a half! Anthany had to go to the bathroom so bad that he left me at the car and walked to a rest stop a mile away. We were BOTH super tense and grumpy the rest of the drive [don't listen to Anthany if he says it was just me :] haha]. Everything getting ready for the wedding went pretty smoothly.. until I was adjusting my dress right before we walked out the door and the strap to my dress ripped right off! Luckily, the hotel front desk had my back and a couple safety pins later I was ready to go! It was super windy at the temple but that didn't affect how happy and excited everybody was :] Bri looked gorgeous! Here are some pictures!
Try to ignore how terrible I look... The worst part of being a cosmetologist is everyone's beauty needs come before your own :[ haha
Getting the bride ready! I have no idea why I didn't get a picture of the finished product here... Her hair looked amazing! Ahh.
Pretty dresses :]
Cute little Krista waiting for Doug and Bri to come out of the temple

The point of this picture was for her to show the ring and for us to look excited or surprised or something? I didn't really get it if you can't tell by the look on my face. I felt so cheesy haha Hopefully the photographer got a decent shot of this one.
It was SO cold. Luckily, we had these cute little hoods to keep us warm :] Unfortunately, this was definitely not how Bri intended for our dresses to be worn.
Love him :] I seriously can't wait for our temple sealing day. This wedding made it all feel so much more real and so exciting.
I have the prettiest mom in the world :]
Stunning right? They were so happy, it was adorable. If you are getting sick of pictures.. I'm sorry. I am very much a picture person and this is my blog after all :]

Anthany and I went to my grandma's house to set up for the reception and it was pouring and so windy! Anthany was out scrubbing down tables and setting up chairs, then he had to go out again and wipe everything down cause it was soaking wet. He was a trooper. We also played an adorable game at the reception called the Shoe Game. Google it and do it at your weddings! It's such a cute idea. One more wedding funny moment. I was admiring one girls french tip toenails at the wedding and showed her that I had gel toes. They both looked adorable, then my little sister Kenna says "I painted my toe nails too!" and shows us her toes. They were these yellow blobs, there was more polish on her skin than her nails haha It was hilarious. I wish I had a picture of all of our feet.
End of the night. Try to ignore how exhausted we all look :]
Saturday we went on a family outing. We played mini golf and lazer tag.
My cute little mom :]
I dominated at lazer tag that day. I don't know what I did different than usual, but it was definitely working for me :] So it was definitely a great trip. It's always so hard to say goodbye but I think I handle it better every time. I wish I had pictures with the McCabes cause we spent alot of time with them too. We had an awesome foosball tournament, lots of trampoline time, and we played the game "Things" a ton. There are always lots of laughs with them :]

On to other things.. I'm so sick of my apartment lately. So I decided today it was time for a craft. With my inspiration being from Pinterest of course, I found cute scrapbook paper that matched with my bedspread, some canvases, and mod podge and this is what I came up with...
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :] I might end up doing some more rearranging though. Anthany and I are also stoked cause I found an awesome deal for a Queen size mattress, box spring, and frame. So our second bedroom is now officially a spare bedroom! I'm so excited to get it set up! This is probably my longest blog post ever so I'm gonna end now :]

Summing up August

We have been so crazy busy! For me, work has been insane.. It's back to school time so everyone is coming in for back to school haircuts! It's been fun being busy though. I've also been on pinterest so much lately looking for inspiration for my home. I'm so sick of all these white walls in my apartment. However, I don't wanna spend my spare money on crafty stuff.. So not much is going on there. But I will get to my pinterest projects in a second..
Aren't they pretty? The 11th of August was Anthany and I's 6th month anniversary. So he surprised me with these flowers when I got home. Which was a big deal cause the last time he got me flowers it was kind of a disaster.. Not sharing that story :] haha We also celebrated by going out to eat at Cracker Barrell and using our two free movie tickets to see the Dark Knight Rises... again. I really don't think Anthany could be any more obsessed with Batman.
First day of school!!! Woohoo!! Anthany finally started school today after months of waiting! He was pretty excited and I was excited to take a classic first day of school picture :] I'm proud of him for working so hard. I'm sure it's not easy to get up at 6 for work... work five hours.. then go to school for a couple more hours... then come home to lots of homework! He is pretty incredible.

My latest pinterest project was I saw a way to clean a microfiber couch.. Our couch is probably 6 or 7 years old.. and survived a household of five kids before becoming ours.. So it was pretty grubby. So I sprayed alcohol on it and scrubbed my little heart out. The pictures don't really do it justice.
So before....

And after...
Not bad right? I think it is going to take a couple more times of scrubbing it down to take care of the layers of dirt but I'm excited it's looking better! I'm gonna let my arms rest before I work at it anymore!

My big sister Briana gets married on Friday! So on Thursday, Anthany and I will be making another trip back to Rigby. It should be really fun! I LOVE family time. And with all the planning the wedding is sure to be amazingly beautiful. I'm excited and so happy for Bri and Doug. Bri found a cute idea on Pinterest for a chalkboard with sort of a love timeline. So I was happy to try it out :] I came across this adorable chalkboard at TJMaxx.. well I had a different one first. But when I pulled the sticker with the brand name off, it took off some of the chalkboard paint with it! Grr.. so frustrating! Luckily they exchanged it for this one.. and Anthany took off the sticker so very carefully for me :] Anyways, I think it turned out adorable!
Our neighbor friends that we worked so hard to force them to spend time with us moved away! So all that work for nothing :[ haha we are gonna miss them! I'm trying to stay motivated with blogging, but it's hard when I'm so busy doing pretty much the same thing everyday.. so I will try harder haha I will definitely blog after the wedding!

Eve of Destruction

Last night, Anthany and I got to go to the Eve of Destruction.. for free!! Anthany's work got us free tickets to go and we also got to get free burgers, fries, and drinks while we were there! Such a sweet deal! Anyway, so it was mostly a whole lot of car racing with some destruction at the end!
It was Anthany's Aunt Lori's birthday so she was wearing a pretty awesome hat :] The little boy next to me in this picture was driving me crazy1 He was basically on my lap the entire time and he just kept touching me. Super annoying. About halfway through the thing it was losing our attention. Luckily that's when the destruction happened :]

These cars were pretty cool.. but I don't understand what the things on the tops of them were for... plus a pickup had  to drive behind them and push them for them to get started.. weird. I don't understand alot of things about racing haha

This was my favorite car! It was called Porky's Revenge :]
They had these two cars hanging way up high and then they dropped them on a van.. it really wasn't exciting as it sounds..
I love fun, free dates!
They kept blowing stuff up.. then there would be this weird ring of smoke in the air forever. kinda cool!

This catfish car's driver was pretty insane
This is the Porkys car during the boat races! There was like 25 cars all with boats attached to the back of them. The winner was whoever still had their boat attached at the end! It was sweet to watch cars crashing all over the place. So that was a pretty fun night :] This next week I'm covering at work for a girl that is going out of town so I'm picking up lots of hours and I don't get a day off :[ bummer. But it will be good. So that's pretty much all that will be going on this next week! Plus Olympic gymnastic event finals all week. WOOHOO!

Guess You Had to be There....

My favorite thing about Anthany is his ability to make me laugh. I think his sense of humor is the funniest thing in the world..
For example.. Today I come home to an extremely clean apartment. Dishes done... floors vacuumed.. dirty clothes organized... he even wiped down the front door! The whole nine yards... So I said "You are so amazing and perfect.. it makes me feel inadequate..." and turns to me and says "Wait am I in trouble?" Haha I thought it was so funny. I always go to work and share the hilarious things Anthany does and says and receive this awkward silence like people don't understand what was funny. Then I feel like a fool so I usually say "Yeahhh... guess you had to be there." Maybe that's true. Or maybe I'm just super easily entertained haha but I think my husband is the funniest!
I haven't blogged for a long time. I've been busy with work.. but mostly I just don't know what to blog about. Seriously not much is going on lately with us. To prove how chill life has been lately.. let me give you a run down of our "big" events lately...
1. I quit growing out my bangs.. so I have bangs again
2. Soooo much Olympics it's ridiculous. If you are wondering the results of anything.. don't waste your time going online to find out.. just ask us. We could probably give a more detailed description of what happened too.
3. Our friends quit hanging out with us after Anthany accidentally slipped and said "My dad loves his low budget porn movies" instead of "My dad loves his low budget HORROR movies." Oops :]
4. Maverick currently has $1 extra large drinks. We have taken advantage.
5. Anthany finally got his beloved Macbook Pro. So we finally have something new to talk about then when he was gonna get it haha

That's really all that I can think of. It's been nice having a lazy summer.. well lazy besides our jobs haha. Work is going great. I think after my impressive ombre this week and my growing clientele, I'm finally holding my own with the girls. I feel less and less like the new girl every week. When Anthany starts up school in a couple weeks.. I will definitely have more me time which I plan to fill with watching Desperate Housewives, keeping up with my share of the cleaning, and hopefully blogging :] Anyways, I hope you enjoyed a little update.

Happy Fourth of July!!

This was Anthany and I's first fourth of July together! I tried to research ahead of time to figure out what to do in Boise for the fourth but I couldn't find anything too exciting going on. We both really would have liked to go back to Rigby for the celebration, but we couldn't get enough time off work. So we started off the day with a "quick" walk to downtown for the parade in the morning. I should have figured out exactly where the parade was... but I didn't so instead we walked around for 45 minutes trying to figure out where we were supposed to go. We also should have brought our chairs... anyways, the parade ended up being not exciting at all.. a lot of it were people holding signs protesting different laws.. Not super patriotic.
Here is me with one of the 920398429483 vintage cars that drove in the parade :]
This huge group of bagpipe playing people were pretty cool to see.
Old School Firetruck
In this parade there were no tractors, horses. marching bands, or dancing! I couldn't believe it. There were some uni-cyclists. It was hard to tell when the parade was over too. Anthany said "In Menan, you always knew the parade was over when the pooper scoopers came down the street" haha so true!

After the parade, I put some dinner in the crock pot and then we spent some time playing Phase 10 and watching The Office [which we are almost done watching all eight seasons!] Then it was dinner time! Anthany and I both really don't like cooking.. but we decided to try out meal planning. We have scheduled out everything we are eating for the next three weeks and are trying hard to stick to it. So on the Fourth, it was time to try out a meal I found called "Crockpot Honey Sesame Chicken." And when we ate it we were really surprised that it was actually SO good! Anthany was so excited :] Of course, making a perfect meal would boost my self esteem too much so something HAD to go wrong. I tried to make rolls.. but I accidentally added twice as much water as I was supposed to. So the rolls all ran together into one huge blob on the pan and then they grew so big! It was disgusting.. luckily Anthany was okay with me just throwing the whole pan away instead of trying to clean the whole thing. But.. the chicken seriously was yummy haha I'm working so hard to become good at cooking.
YUM!!!
Anthany has never been more proud of me haha

We decided to go down to the park to walk around. I figured it would have cool booths selling handmade stuff and delicous food.. but there was pretty much nothing but a lot of stands selling alcohol. Menan is for sure better at celebrating the fourth! So then we just sat around till the fireworks. It was fun people watching and just hanging with each other. I think my favorite part about the fourth is seeing everyone and catching up with people I never see so it was a huge bummer this year.. in the future we will definitely be trying to pull some strings to go back home to celebrate!
Almost firework time! The firework show wasn't terrible... definitely NOTHING like Idaho Fall's fireworks though!
Anthany and I are both starting to feel homesick. Luckily we found out we will be going back to Rigby the end of August and we will get to see both of our families! The reason we are coming is still kind of a secret/surprise I think.. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tell but we are both definitely excited!
Fajitas!
We made fajitas tonight [by "we" I mean I cut up the vegetables and Anthany did everything else] They were delicious. I would say our cooking is going pretty fantastic! I hope everyone had a great fourth! I love summertime!
